The first 32mm tube cylinder guard! We chose this tube size for two reasons: for structural rigidity, to provide optimal protection for the R 18, and for aesthetic reasons. Because only the 32mm tube strikes the right balance between functionality and aesthetics on the imposing R 18 and its powerful exhaust manifolds. In addition, we deliberately chose a closed, one-piece design for the crash bar, which, in addition to its dimensions, contributes to additional structural rigidity. The high-quality powder-coated engine guard, enhanced with a clear coat and perfectly matched to the frame, harmonizes discreetly with the R 18’s style while still adding its own distinctive character. It is no coincidence that the “Pik” shape evokes the cylinder guards of classic air-cooled BMW boxers.

The engine guard is securely mounted at six specially selected points. The lower reinforcements, attached to the cradles, have been discreetly positioned by our engineers so as not to be noticed and not to disrupt the lines.

The multi-point mounting ensures that, in the event of a fall or rollover, the forces involved do not occur or act at a single point, but are absorbed by being distributed across all six mounting points. The localized stress caused by peaks in force and torque is thus significantly reduced.
