With the ShiftCam engines of the R 1250 models, it’s important to remember that the valve control system is particularly complex. That’s why we strongly recommend proactively protecting the cylinder head. The exposed valve covers are mounted with tight contact, which can lead to relative movement during an impact—potentially compromising the sensitive valve timing mechanism.

This is why additional cylinder head protection is essential—especially in tough riding conditions.

Our design approach ensures this protection doesn’t just shield the cylinder head and valve cover, but also reinforces the structure of the OEM engine crash bars. This delivers added stability and overall rigidity.

Installation is straightforward and direct. Made of high-quality aluminum, the guard mounts securely onto the engine protection bars using a precision clamping system. With a 4 mm thick construction, it’s built to withstand the harshest conditions. The fit is exact, and the fasteners—two double countersunk round-head screws—ensure rock-solid attachment.
