    The metal footrests for the R 1200 GS LC Adventure and the R 1250 GS Adventure are ideally designed for off-road riding: They’re sturdy, stable, and can handle dirt. Even when covered in dust and mud, they provide a secure grip. They offer traction but not comfort. So far, so good.

    What’s ideal for off-road riding can quickly become uncomfortable during everyday use or on long trips when riding on the road in motocross boots. Unsightly damage to less sturdy footwear is inevitable, as the protruding spikes on the metal footrests leave their mark. And if you maneuver with your shins unprotected in any way, you risk a truly painful injury.

    It is precisely in this context that Wunderlich has developed our rubber footrest pads for everyday use—whether for travel, daily commutes to the office, or city riding. Their contoured surface ensures a perfect fit. They snap into place, extending beyond the edge of the original footrests and framing them, so that contact with the shin is guaranteed to be harmless. Contact with shoes—whatever the case may be. They also provide pleasant damping of engine vibrations. The precision-formed backing plate, secured with two screws from below, ensures excellent stability of the footrest. And for off-road riders, they can be quickly and easily removed for extreme use.
