To ensure optimal cooling performance, the oil cooler is strategically positioned in the airflow below the water radiator, at the lower front section of the fairing. However, this placement makes it particularly vulnerable to direct impacts from stones, dirt, and insects kicked up by the front wheel.

These debris can clog the delicate radiator fins, reducing thermal efficiency or even causing damage that may result in leakage. A damaged radiator seriously compromises the reliability of the motorcycle. That’s why Wunderlich recommends its protective grille, crafted from fine-mesh stainless steel—durable and robust—designed to effectively filter out larger debris without obstructing the airflow necessary for cooling.

NOTE: Manual cleaning of the grille should be done carefully to avoid damage. It is recommended to place a damp cloth over the surface for around 30 minutes to soften the dirt, which can then be wiped away effortlessly—without scratching or leaving residue.
