Carbon covers are certainly a pleasure to the eye, but above all, they provide complete protection for the valve covers. We have observed that in the event of a fall, the valve cover can be completely worn down, as Boxers tend to tip over onto the valve cover first and then onto the handlebar. The speed at which valve covers get damaged truly surprised us.

For its high-tech carbon, Ilmberger uses pre-impregnated carbon fiber matrices. The fiber volume is precisely calculated, and the orientation of the various fiber layers is carefully defined. The matrix is then laminated by hand without air pockets and coated twice with a protective layer. An additional clear coat layer protects and enhances the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure. After autoclave curing, the carbon components meet the most demanding requirements even under maximum stress. This aerospace-grade material delivers a weight saving of up to 70% compared to OEM parts and, with its weight-specific stiffness, fully exploits its potential.
